Mid-Harvest Tragedy: Kaleb Cooper Loses Everything in Diddly Squat Farm Burglary.
Farming Equipment Stolen from Bucks Field Belonged to Clarkson’s Farm Star Kaleb Cooper
A significant theft in rural Buckinghamshire has sparked outrage and concern after farming equipment belonging to “Clarkson’s Farm” breakout star Kaleb Cooper was stolen from a field near Gerrards Cross. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, July 29, has since prompted an ongoing investigation by Thames Valley Police and a public appeal for information.
The stolen items include a red post knocker owned by Kaleb Cooper and a green John Deere tractor belonging to Home and Country Fencing, an Aylesbury-based agricultural fencing company. The theft is believed to have taken place between 3.30am and 4.40am. CCTV footage later captured the stolen tractor driving past a BP garage in Gerrards Cross at 3.52am, just minutes after the crime.
Kaleb Cooper, who rose to national fame through his no-nonsense approach and charm on Amazon Prime’s hit series “Clarkson’s Farm,” took to social media to express his frustration and appeal for public assistance. On Instagram, Cooper wrote:
“My post knocker was stolen last night [July 29]. As well as the John Deere tractor. Can we please make this as hot as possible! What is going on with England at the moment!”
His impassioned message has been widely shared among fans and farming communities across the UK, further amplifying attention to the incident.
Lewis, the owner of Home and Country Fencing and the tractor’s rightful owner, spoke with the BBC about the crime. He explained how the thieves gained access:
“They broke into the field and cut a chain off. They had probably been watching us as it was parked out of sight behind a barn.”
Disturbingly, this is not the first time the company has been targeted. Lewis disclosed that another post knocker was stolen just 11 months ago in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire, suggesting the possibility of repeat offenses or organized criminal activity targeting rural properties.
The case has now been taken up by the Thames Valley Police Rural Crime Taskforce. Investigating officer PC Grace Shayler issued a public statement urging anyone with information to come forward:
“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the theft of a green John Deere tractor with a red post knocker attachment, or anyone with information about what happened, to please come forward.
We are also asking for anyone who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage that could assist our enquiry to please get in touch.”
Members of the public can provide information by calling 101 or visiting the Thames Valley Police website and quoting the reference number 43250387102. Alternatively, those wishing to remain anonymous can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
The theft has sparked concern among farmers and rural workers who rely on their equipment for daily operations. With crime in rural areas often going unnoticed or unreported, Cooper’s high-profile appeal has brought much-needed attention to the vulnerabilities faced by those in the agricultural sector.
Cooper, who still works full-time as a farming contractor alongside his appearances on television, has long been an advocate for supporting and protecting the UK’s farming industry. This recent crime is a stark reminder of the challenges faced by rural communities and the importance of vigilance and community support.
As of now, the stolen equipment remains missing, and the police continue to pursue leads in the investigation. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the Gerrards Cross area during the early hours of July 29 is urged to contact authorities immediately.
This incident has united fans and fellow farmers in support of Cooper and Home and Country Fencing, reinforcing the need for improved rural security and continued awareness about the growing issue of agricultural theft in the UK.
