Jeremy Clarkson Shares Emotional Clarkson’s Farm Update After Lisa Hogan’s Heartbreaking Loss.

Jeremy Clarkson Shares ‘Sad’ Clarkson’s Farm Update as Lisa Hogan Faces a Heartbreaking Loss

Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear host turned reluctant farmer, has shared a bittersweet update from Clarkson’s Farm — and it’s one that’s left his partner, Lisa Hogan, feeling particularly emotional.

After the massive success of his hit Amazon Prime series, Clarkson’s Farm, the 65-year-old broadcaster is back in the spotlight — this time with the release of his brand-new book, Diddly Squat: The Farmer’s Dog. But alongside the excitement of his latest project, Jeremy revealed a story that brings both laughter and a touch of sadness from life at Diddly Squat Farm.

A New Chapter — Literally — at Diddly Squat Farm

In a recent video shared on social media, Jeremy proudly showcased his latest book on a shop shelf, standing before a display filled with copies of The Farmer’s Dog. With his signature humor, he couldn’t resist poking fun as he promoted the release.

“Look at this, it’s my new book, The Farmer’s Dog,” he said with a grin. “It’s about a year on the farm and what it was like to open a pub. I thought I’d read you an excerpt — give you a flavour.”

Never one to shy away from a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor, Clarkson quipped,

“We can’t find a reindeer, so I’m having to use a normal deer with antlers taped to its head. Exciting stuff — The Farmer’s Dog.”

He even took a playful jab at another popular title nearby, joking,

“Better than that,” while gesturing toward When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between.

The book, published this week, marks the fifth installment in Clarkson’s bestselling Diddly Squat series. Following the ups and downs of his farming life in the Cotswolds, this latest edition focuses on the challenges — and chaos — of opening his new pub, aptly named The Farmer’s Dog.

Lisa Hogan’s “Sad” Farm Moment

But beyond the banter, The Farmer’s Dog also touches on some of the more emotional moments from life on the farm — including one that hit Lisa Hogan particularly hard.

In one excerpt, Jeremy describes how Lisa decided to buy five sheep — without much of a plan for what to do with them. The result, he jokes, has been a rather odd (and occasionally tragic) chapter in their farming life.

He writes,

“Lisa bought five sheep for no reason. They were expensive to buy and have no faces — they look like they’re from a horror film.”

The sheep, he continues, are more trouble than they’re worth.

“We can’t ever sell or eat them. Instead, we just have to wait for the day when they think of a particularly revolting way of killing themselves. And then Lisa will be sad, and I’ll have to pretend I’m sad as well.”

It’s the kind of darkly comic honesty fans have come to love about Clarkson’s Farm — a show that balances rural reality with the unmistakable chaos of Clarkson’s personality.

The Heart and Humor of Diddly Squat

Since its debut in 2021, Clarkson’s Farm has become one of Amazon Prime’s most successful series, praised for its authenticity, humor, and unexpectedly heartfelt portrayal of farming life. Viewers have watched Jeremy bumble his way through the world of agriculture alongside his patient-yet-blunt co-star Kaleb Cooper, and of course, Lisa Hogan — who often serves as the voice of reason amidst the madness.

The addition of The Farmer’s Dog pub, which took center stage in the show’s upcoming fourth season, marks a new adventure for the Diddly Squat team. True to form, Jeremy’s take on running a pub is as chaotic as his approach to farming — full of setbacks, stubbornness, and a lot of laughs.

Clarkson’s Charm Endures

Even as he jokes about the difficulties of rural life, Clarkson’s affection for Diddly Squat — and for Lisa — shines through. Whether it’s battling bureaucrats, taming livestock, or dealing with sheep that seem determined to self-destruct, his humor remains his greatest weapon.

As The Farmer’s Dog hits shelves, fans can expect more of the trademark Clarkson blend: part misadventure, part social commentary, and entirely entertaining.

And if there’s one thing the story of those doomed sheep proves, it’s that life on Clarkson’s Farm will never be dull — even when it’s a little bit sad.
