Lisa Hogan Leaves Diddly Squat Behind for Bold New Dating Show—Fans Didn’t See This Coming.

After years of helping manage the chaos and charm of rural life on Clarkson’s Farm, Lisa Hogan is stepping out of the fields and into a brand-new role—this time as the face of love in the countryside. The Irish-born TV personality and longtime partner of Jeremy Clarkson is set to host ITV’s upcoming dating series Farming for Love, marking a bold and exciting new chapter in her television journey.

The new show is a modern reimagining of the early 2000s reality format Farmer Wants a Wife, which originally aired in 2001 before a brief revival in 2009. Now, more than 17 years later, ITV is bringing the concept back to life—with a fresh title, a new generation of contestants, and Hogan at the helm.

A New Kind of Matchmaking

Unlike traditional dating shows filled with glamour and city lights, Farming for Love dives into the quieter, often lonelier world of rural life. The series aims to connect farmers—many of whom spend long days in isolation—with potential partners willing to embrace both the romance and the realities of countryside living.

Hogan, who has become a fan-favorite on Clarkson’s Farm, brings authenticity and warmth to the role. Having experienced farm life firsthand at Diddly Squat alongside Clarkson, she understands the unique challenges that come with balancing hard labor, unpredictable conditions, and the desire for companionship.

Announcing the show during an appearance on This Morning, Hogan encouraged viewers across the UK to take a chance on love.

“There are lots of farmers out there looking for love, and we have four people who are just gorgeous,” she shared enthusiastically. “If you want to apply, you should—and apply for your friends and apply for your family.”

Meet the Farmers Looking for Love

The upcoming series introduces four diverse contestants, each with their own story and reason for joining the search for a partner.

First is 29-year-old Guy from Wiltshire, a beef farmer whose daily routine is dominated by long, solitary hours tending to cattle. For him, the show offers hope of finding someone to share not only quiet evenings but also the demanding rhythm of farm life. “It’s a bit lonely driving around all day,” he admitted. “You just want someone there—someone to share those moments with.”

Then there’s Chris, 68, from North Yorkshire, whose story brings emotional depth to the series. After losing his wife, he has spent the past several years navigating life alone. Now, he’s ready to open his heart again. “It’s been a tough time,” he said, “but I know there’s someone out there. I just don’t want to do it on my own anymore.”

Representing a younger generation is Dana, 24, a dedicated dairy farmer who has spent five years building her life in agriculture. Strong, driven, and passionate about her work, she’s looking for someone who can match her energy and commitment. “You have to be willing to work hard,” she explained. “But what you get back from it is worth everything.”

Completing the lineup is George, a 29-year-old farmer from Wrexham with a slightly more immediate goal—finding a date for his best friend’s wedding. But beneath the humor lies a genuine desire for connection. “I’ve been given strict criteria,” he joked. “So here I am—what better way to do it?”

From Diddly Squat to Prime-Time TV

Hogan’s transition from farm life to hosting a national dating show highlights her growing presence in British television. Since 2017, she and Clarkson have shared both the struggles and triumphs of running a 1,000-acre farm in Oxfordshire, captivating audiences with their candid and often humorous take on agriculture.

Their series has not only entertained but also shed light on the realities of modern farming—something that Farming for Love is likely to continue, albeit through a more romantic lens.

A Season of Love—and Challenges

Set to premiere this June, the show arrives at a time when interest in rural life is surging. Yet it also coincides with a difficult period for farmers, as hinted in upcoming episodes of Clarkson’s Farm, which will explore one of the most heartbreaking challenges yet: an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis.

This contrast—between the hope of new relationships and the harsh realities of farm life—may be exactly what gives Farming for Love its emotional edge.

As Hogan steps into her new role, one thing is clear: whether she’s navigating muddy fields or matters of the heart, she’s bringing the same honesty, humor, and heart that fans have come to love. And for viewers, this could be more than just another dating show—it might just be the most down-to-earth love story on television.
