Jeremy Clarkson Breaks Silence with Exciting Farm Update After Devastating Setbacks.

Jeremy Clarkson Battles “Catastrophic” Year at Diddly Squat Farm but Shares Glimmer of Hope

Jeremy Clarkson has never shied away from sharing the highs and lows of life at Diddly Squat Farm — but 2025 is proving to be one of his toughest years yet. From failed harvests to heartbreaking farm tragedies, the Clarkson’s Farm star has faced one setback after another. Yet, amid the chaos, a piece of good news has given fans something to celebrate.

From Halted Filming to Awards Recognition

Just weeks ago, Clarkson was forced to pause filming for Season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm after U.S. Senator JD Vance’s controversial visit to Chipping Norton. The politician’s stay at the lavish Dean Manor placed a no-fly zone over the Cotswolds, preventing the crew from capturing aerial shots. The disruption was only the latest in a string of frustrations for the broadcaster.

But the 65-year-old former Top Gear host finally had reason to smile when he revealed on Instagram that Clarkson’s Farm has been nominated for a National Television Award. Sharing a snap of the Amazon Prime series, Clarkson told his 9.4 million followers: “We’ve been nominated for the National TV Awards.”

For fans who have watched him weather storm after storm at Diddly Squat, the recognition was seen as a rare bright spot.

Kaleb Cooper Welcomes Baby Number Three

Adding to the positive news, Clarkson’s right-hand man and breakout fan favorite, Kaleb Cooper, welcomed his third child with fiancée Taya. The young couple are already parents to Oscar (2021) and Willa (2023). On August 18, Kaleb proudly introduced baby Ashton to his loyal followers on Instagram.

Fans flooded the comments with congratulations, delighted to see one of the show’s most beloved figures enjoying such a joyous moment.

A “Catastrophic” Harvest Looms

But not all is well at Diddly Squat. Clarkson recently warned fans that this year’s harvest may be disastrous, describing the situation as “catastrophic.” Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “It looks like this year’s harvest will be catastrophic. That should be a worry for anyone who eats food.”

Though Clarkson didn’t specify the exact cause, followers quickly pointed to the erratic British weather. His Times column earlier this summer had already outlined the problem: months of drought followed by sudden heatwaves that left crops withering in the fields.

He explained that Diddly Squat saw no rainfall in March, a mere 20mm in April, and just 4mm in May — “not even enough to keep a window box alive.” Crops like onions and beets were “sitting in the dust,” barley refused to grow, and Clarkson feared for his potatoes.

“It used to be reasonably predictable,” he wrote. “But it just isn’t anymore.”

Bovine TB and Heartbreaking Losses

The challenges didn’t end with the weather. In a devastating update, Clarkson confirmed an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis at Diddly Squat, forcing the temporary closure of his farm. Though the farm shop remains open, the news left both staff and fans heartbroken.

Taking to social media, Clarkson explained: “Bad news from Diddly Squat. We’ve gone down with TB. Everyone here is absolutely devastated.” He later clarified that the disease was bovine TB, which doesn’t affect humans but is fatal for cattle.

In a candid interview with Times Radio, Clarkson admitted the news consumed his thoughts: “It’s awful. You have a test every six months on the cows, and then you sort of become blasé. It’s a hypothetical threat — until it happens to you.”

Tragedy struck again when Lisa Hogan, Clarkson’s partner, revealed that one of the puppies from their dog Arya’s litter had died only days after birth. Fans were touched by her emotional post: “Sad news this morning. Mr Grey has gone to fur and feather land.”

Season Five Captures It All

Despite the setbacks, filming for Season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm continues — and viewers can expect to see both the triumphs and tragedies unfold on screen. From the devastation of a failed harvest to the joy of Kaleb’s growing family, the upcoming season promises to be one of the most emotional yet.

For Clarkson, the battle against unpredictable weather, disease, and heartbreak has become part of his daily reality. Yet, his ability to share the struggle with humor, honesty, and grit is exactly what keeps fans coming back — and why Clarkson’s Farm continues to resonate far beyond the fields of Oxfordshire.
