After a Year of Refusal, Clarkson’s Pub Finally Serves This Fan-Favorite!
Jeremy Clarkson Adds All-British Ketchup to The Farmer’s Dog Pub Menu in Major Update
Clarkson’s Farm star makes fan-favorite condiment available for the first time – and it’s 100% British
Big changes are underway at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, The Farmer’s Dog, and fans are loving it. After more than a year of operation, the pub—known for its unwavering commitment to serving only 100% British-sourced food and drinks—is finally adding one key item to its menu: ketchup.
Until now, the pub famously did not serve the popular condiment due to Clarkson’s strict requirement that all ingredients be grown, raised, or produced in Britain. Signs posted at the pub made that clear, reading:
“We have no ketchup! Sorry, there are no companies which produce a ketchup that uses fully British ingredients… Unless you know of one, if so—please let us know.”
Another notice near the entrance doubled down on the message:
“Everything we cook, serve and sell is grown or raised or produced in Great Britain—even the salt and pepper. This means we don’t serve Coca-Cola or ketchup. #BackBritishFarming.”
But Clarkson’s condiment dilemma sparked innovation.
Condimaniac Steps In with a Saucy Solution
Enter Condimaniac, a British sauce company co-founded by Kier Kemp and Jennifer Dreier. Inspired by Clarkson’s ketchup-free policy, the duo took it as a challenge to create a completely British ketchup—from ingredients to production.
In a video posted to their social media, Kier shared the full-circle moment:
“100% British ketchup has arrived at The Farmer’s Dog. This was a full circle moment for us as it was this very sign that inspired us to make the ketchup in the first place.”
After creating the new sauce, Condimaniac met with pub manager Annie, who agreed to not only offer the ketchup in the pub but also sell it wholesale at the on-site butchers and The Farmer’s Puppy—another Clarkson-owned outlet.
The Taste Test: Heinz May Have Met Its Match
Customers at The Farmer’s Dog had a chance to try the new British ketchup—and the reviews were glowing.
One customer, Phoebe, said after trying it on her bacon roll:
“Oh my God, that is amazing. I’m not having Heinz again, that’s for sure.”
The condiment is currently available for purchase on the official Condimaniac website, though it has already sold out due to high demand.
Backing British Farming, One Squeeze at a Time
For Jeremy Clarkson, the move aligns perfectly with his ongoing mission to support UK farmers and local produce. From burgers to beer, The Farmer’s Dog remains fiercely loyal to British agriculture—and now, finally, ketchup gets a spot on the table too.
