Todd Chrisley Teases Possible Political Future After Trump Pardon.
Todd Chrisley, well-known entrepreneur and reality TV star from Chrisley Knows Best, has sparked fresh headlines after hinting that public office might be in his future.
During a recent interview with Access Hollywood alongside his wife, Julie Chrisley, and daughter, Savannah Chrisley, Todd revealed that he has been approached about running for political office in Tennessee.
“I was on a call, I think it was Thursday or Friday of last week, with Governor Bill Lee,” Todd shared. “And I came in and said, ‘You’re not gonna believe this.’ And she [Julie] said, ‘What?’ And I said, ‘They want me and Savannah to run for two seats.’”
While Todd didn’t confirm whether he would actually launch a campaign, he did share his lighthearted reaction. “I said, ‘Can you imagine me and her in the same state, holding office?’” he joked, referring to himself and his daughter Savannah.
Life After a Major Turning Point
Back in May, Todd and Julie returned home after receiving pardons. The couple, who had been serving time away from their family, expressed relief and gratitude for being reunited with their children.
Savannah, in particular, played a major role in fighting for her parents’ release. She campaigned tirelessly and even received the life-changing phone call from the White House notifying her of the decision.
Reflecting on that moment, Todd recalled that he and Savannah were still on the facility grounds when she handed him a phone. To his surprise, it was a FaceTime call with former President Donald Trump.
“He was very kind. Very humble,” Todd shared. Savannah added that the message was simple but heartfelt: “‘You got your family back. Enjoy this next chapter.’” Todd also noted that Trump complimented how well he looked after the difficult experience.
A Family’s Unbreakable Bond
Throughout the challenges, the Chrisleys leaned on each other. Todd praised Savannah for her unshakable determination, recalling how she never accepted the idea that he and Julie would be gone for years.
“She would always say to me, ‘Dad, you’re not gonna be here 10 years. That’s not happening. That’s not something that I’m ever going to accept. And so, don’t worry about that,’” he explained.
The family, who have been in the public eye for nearly a decade thanks to their hit reality series, see this moment as a fresh start. Todd and Julie, married since 1996, share three children together: Chase, 29, Savannah, 28, and Grayson, 19. Todd also has two older children, Lindsie, 35, and Kyle, 33, from his first marriage. During their time away, Savannah took over custody of her younger brother Grayson and her 12-year-old niece, Chloe — further proving her commitment to keeping the family together.
Looking Ahead
While talk of Todd possibly stepping into politics has surprised many fans, it wouldn’t be the first time a reality TV personality considered a career in public service. For now, he has neither confirmed nor denied any concrete plans.
Instead, Todd has emphasized gratitude for his family’s support and concern for others still facing difficult circumstances. “We are blessed because we never lost hope,” he reflected. “But what about those other individuals that do not have that hope? … It shouldn’t be about us right now. It should be about those men and women that are still in that system that have no one to fight for them.”
As the Chrisleys continue rebuilding their lives after a highly publicized chapter, Todd’s comments have sparked curiosity about what comes next — whether it’s politics, television, or simply focusing on family.
For now, fans are watching closely as Todd embraces his second chance, with his trademark humor and determination still intact.
