Reality TV Feud Erupts: Todd Chrisley vs. Southern Charm’s Grande Dame.

Todd Chrisley Fires Back at Patricia Altschul’s Shade Over Charleston Move: “She’s Getting Ready for Death”

In a twist few fans saw coming, reality TV star Todd Chrisley is firing back at Southern Charm’s Patricia Altschul after she made a snide remark about his post-prison plans — and he’s not holding back.

Chrisley, 56, broke his silence on the July 23 episode of his and wife Julie’s “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” podcast, where he addressed an unexpected jab from the 84-year-old Southern socialite. The drama started when Altschul reacted to reports that the Chrisleys were planning to move to Charleston, South Carolina, and film a new reality show. Her now-viral Instagram comment? “There goes the neighborhood.

“I’ve never had an issue with her,” Todd said. “I always thought she was a classy lady. But this was a little shocking.”

💬 “She’s Already Getting Ready for Death”

Todd didn’t hold back in his response. “This is a woman that’s in her 80s. She could be my mother,” he said, adding that he had to ask his fans not to retaliate online after they sent him screenshots of her comment.

“I said, ‘Please don’t go back on this old lady. At the end of the day, she’s old,’” he recalled, before delivering a biting one-liner: “She’s already, according to the tabloids, transferred her assets over to her son. I guess she’s getting ready for death.”

🗣️ From Classy to Petty

While claiming he doesn’t dislike Patricia, Todd pointedly critiqued her past. “She doesn’t need to worry about how I make my money,” he quipped. “At this age, I could end up marrying someone like Patricia and take her money. That’s kinda how she made her money.”

Altschul, known for her elegance on Southern Charm, was married to wealthy art collector and investment banker Arthur G. Altschul until his death in 2002. Todd noted, “She’s playing a role that’s been in the book of securing wealth since the beginning of time — a younger woman marries an older man, and he dies, she gets the money.”

💸 Not Backing Down

Chrisley didn’t stop there. He joked, “Maybe I’ll become Patricia’s walker. Maybe her son has to worry about me inheriting her money.”

Despite the jabs, Todd emphasized that most people have shown him and Julie support since their early release from prison, following a controversial pardon from former President Donald Trump in May 2025.

🕊️ Moving On, But Not Silently

The Chrisleys were convicted in 2022 on charges including tax evasion and bank fraud, but served only 28 months behind bars before their pardon. Now planning a fresh start with a hotel project in Charleston, Todd seems intent on not letting local backlash — or Bravo royalty — derail his future.

“Patricia should know we were born and raised in South Carolina,” Todd said. “She’s not even from here.”

The feud adds another dramatic chapter to the Chrisleys’ headline-making saga — and if the reality TV cameras are rolling again, this could be just the beginning.
