Nanny Faye on Golden Bachelorette? Todd Chrisley’s Surprise Entry Leaves Fans Stunned!
Todd Chrisley Considers Making Mom Nanny Faye the Next Star of ‘Golden Bachelorette’ – But She’s Not Having It
Todd Chrisley may have found the perfect candidate for the next Golden Bachelorette — his 80-year-old mother, Nanny Faye Chrisley. But while Todd and his wife Julie are fully on board with the idea, it turns out Nanny Faye has no interest in joining the dating pool on national television.
During the August 6 episode of the Chrisley Confessions 2.0 podcast, Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, jokingly discussed the idea of putting Faye in the spotlight as a contestant on The Golden Bachelorette, a senior spin-off of The Bachelor franchise.
“You know, I look pretty good to be 80, but you know what? I’m not advertising,” Faye quipped, making it clear that she’s not eager to date — let alone do it in front of millions of viewers.
Todd was undeterred, teasing, “Mom, I’m going to put you on a dating site.” Julie chimed in with support for the idea, suggesting that Faye could be a fantastic fit for the Golden Bachelorette series.
“Just think,” Todd added enthusiastically, “You’d have 12 men fighting for your love. You’d be the queen of the season!”
But Nanny Faye wasn’t buying it.
“I didn’t even watch the first ones,” she replied bluntly, referencing past seasons featuring Gerry Turner and Joan Vassos. “And I’m certainly not going to be on one for somebody to watch my stupid s***.”
Even when Todd reminded her that she could choose from a group of suitors, she wasn’t swayed. “I can’t even take care of one,” she said with a laugh. “Hush, let’s talk about something else besides that crazy stuff.”
Instead of television stardom, Faye said she was more interested in spending time with family. She recently visited her grandson Grayson at the University of Alabama and shared a sweet moment they had.
“He said, ‘Nanny, how’s it feel to be in Bama?’” she recounted. “I said, ‘I don’t feel any different. I still love Clemson. It’s still in my heart.’”
Faye has long been a fan favorite among Chrisley Knows Best viewers, admired for her quick wit, no-nonsense attitude, and strong Southern charm. She was married to her late husband Gene until his death in 2012 at the age of 77. Together, they had two sons: Todd and Derrick. In addition to her sons, Faye is a beloved grandmother to Todd’s children: Chase, 29; Savannah, 27; Grayson, 19; and Chloe, 12 — who is Todd’s granddaughter through his son Kyle, 33, from a previous relationship. Todd also shares a daughter, Lindsie, 35, with his ex-wife, although their relationship remains estranged.
Recently, the Chrisley family has been in the headlines for their legal journey, as both Todd and Julie were released from prison earlier this summer following a high-profile conviction on fraud charges. The couple received presidential pardons and have since returned home, reuniting with their family and restarting their podcast, which they are using as a platform to tell their side of the story.
The podcast also revealed a hilarious rumor started by Faye herself. Todd shared, “I just want to know because you told the kids [and] they kept coming down here, telling me that you said you were getting ready to have them a new grandpa.”
Faye, ever the jokester, responded coyly: “All of my friends are special. Don’t be talking trash and crazy. … I don’t want [a new husband]. I could have had one a long, long time ago, but I don’t want one.”
She added with her signature sass, “I don’t want to be a nurse or a pocketbook. I’m gonna live my life. I had one husband and one dog, and I’m not having nobody else.”
So, while fans may love the idea of Nanny Faye handing out roses, it’s clear she’s more focused on family, faith, and fun — and less on finding a new flame on reality TV.
