Julie Chrisley Breaks Down in Tears After Pardon: “I’m Getting Out of Here!”
First interview since release reveals emotional moment Julie learned she was going home

Julie Chrisley has spoken out publicly for the first time since her release from federal prison—and her emotional reaction is capturing hearts.
✦ A Tearful Call from Savannah
In a preview clip for her upcoming appearance on My View with Lara Trump (airing on FOX News), Julie, 52, described the moment her daughter Savannah, 27, told her that former President Donald Trump had granted her and husband Todd full pardons.
“I called Savannah one more time, and she said, ‘He did it, he signed it,’” Julie recalled. “And I just started busting out crying… I was so nervous, I just hung up.”
Sitting beside her were Todd, Savannah, and their son Grayson, 19, visibly moved as Julie relived the experience.
✦ From Prison to Pardon
Julie and Todd Chrisley had been incarcerated since 2022 following convictions for bank fraud and tax evasion. On May 27, 2024, the former president signed off on full pardons for the couple, leading to their immediate release—just one day before their official return home.
Todd, 56, also shared how he learned of the news:
“This guy stops me and goes, ‘Man, I think you just got pardoned,’” Todd said with a laugh. “I said, ‘Yeah, okay,’ and just kept walking. Later, a CO told me, ‘Todd, you just got pardoned. They sent me to check on you.’”
“If I’m pardoned, I’m great,” Todd joked, while also giving credit to divine intervention: “God touched President Trump’s heart. Every night, I prayed to be reunited with my wife and children. And He did that.”
✦ Back Home and Together Again
In her first public sighting on May 29, Julie was spotted smiling and running errands in Nashville. Later that same day, she reunited with Todd—who had been incarcerated in a separate Florida facility—for an emotional homecoming.
Two days later, Todd held a press conference in Nashville alongside Savannah.
“Julie, who is a wonderful, decent, God-fearing woman… is home with Chloe right now,” Todd shared, referring to their 12-year-old granddaughter, whom they adopted in 2016. “Chloe will not let her go.”
He added:
“It was great to be home. No matter where that is, as long as she’s there, it’s home.”
✦ What’s Next for the Chrisleys?
The family isn’t fading quietly into the background. In addition to their FOX News interview, Savannah announced on her Unlocked podcast that Todd and Julie will soon appear as guests—and that their own podcast Chrisley Confessions will officially relaunch.
“I am so excited for that… for them to have a place to share their story and be authentically themselves,” Savannah said.
As the couple reenters public life, fans can expect more candid revelations, reflections on prison life, and the family’s plans for the future.
