Reality TV star teases political ambitions at Turning Point USA summit

Savannah Chrisley, star of the hit reality show Chrisley Knows Best, is making headlines once again — but this time, it’s not for television drama. The 27-year-old conservative influencer and media personality hinted at a possible future in U.S. politics during her recent appearance at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida.

“I had a meeting a few weeks ago at the White House about me potentially taking over a House seat that’s coming available, and what a journey that would be,” Chrisley told the audience. “I went through the process to see what that would look like for me and my family.”

While she hasn’t officially committed to a run, Chrisley says she’s already thinking bigger than the House of Representatives.

“I don’t know if I really want the House seat. I think maybe there’s a Senate seat that could come in my future in the next three years, and I’m going to go for the big dog.”

A Political Pivot After a Public Fight

Savannah’s political aspirations come shortly after her high-profile campaign to free her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, from federal prison. The couple was convicted in 2022 of defrauding banks of over $36 million in loans, committing tax evasion, and other financial crimes. Julie was also convicted of obstruction of justice and wire fraud.

Todd was sentenced to 12 years, and Julie to 7 years behind bars. Both were released in May 2025 following full pardons signed by former President Donald Trump, marking a dramatic turn in the family’s saga.

A Rising Conservative Voice

Savannah has leaned into conservative politics in recent years, particularly during her campaign to exonerate her parents. She appeared at the 2024 Republican National Convention, criticizing President Biden’s administration for what she described as a “two-faced judicial system” targeting Christians and conservatives.

“They’ve labeled us extremists or even worse,” she said during her speech, garnering both applause and controversy.

Political Reality Check

Despite Savannah’s interest in a Senate seat, there are currently no U.S. Senate elections in Tennessee scheduled in the next three years. However, her rising profile within conservative circles — and her ability to capture public attention — could keep her in the conversation as a potential candidate down the line.
