Back Together… Then Gone: Savannah Chrisley Opens Up About Being Ghosted by Robert Shiver.
Savannah Chrisley Opens Up About Heartbreak: Ex Robert Shiver “Ghosted” Her After Brief Reconciliation
Reality Star Reflects on Lost Love, Personal Growth, and Reclaiming Her Self-Worth
Savannah Chrisley, the 27-year-old reality TV star best known from Chrisley Knows Best, has opened up about a painful chapter in her personal life. In a heartfelt and candid episode of her Unlocked podcast released on August 5, Savannah revealed that she briefly rekindled her relationship with ex-boyfriend Robert Shiver—only to be “ghosted” by him shortly after. The emotional confession gave fans a rare glimpse into the private turmoil she’s been navigating, especially in the wake of her parents’ release from prison.
A Second Chance That Didn’t Last
Savannah and Robert first began dating in August 2023, and by all accounts, their relationship seemed full of promise. Robert, a former college football player, had quickly become a significant part of Savannah’s life. But as she shared earlier this year, their relationship eventually ended. However, with the recent release of her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, from prison, hope for a fresh start emerged — not just for her family, but for her and Robert as well.
“Once mom and dad got out, my ex and I thought, ‘Maybe, let’s give this another go,’” Savannah explained. “We hung out some, we went on a trip and had the absolute best time, because we truly were best friends.”
The reunion, however, was short-lived. The couple opted to keep their reconciliation under the radar, hoping to quietly explore whether there was still something worth saving. But just as quickly as it began again, it ended — and in a way Savannah never saw coming.
“I Got Ghosted.”
In her own words, Savannah said she was blindsided when Robert suddenly cut off communication without warning or explanation.
“I don’t think that’s actually ever happened to me before, so I really didn’t know how to act,” she admitted. “After 24 hours of not hearing from him, I was like, ‘Savannah, you deserve better behavior than this.’ So, I blocked him.”
The situation left her stunned, not only by the abrupt silence but by the emotional fallout that followed. Despite her deep admiration for Robert — whom she described as a “phenomenal human being” — Savannah said the pain of being ignored felt like a death of sorts.
“Basically, I am dead to him, and he just needs to have my funeral,” she quipped, masking vulnerability with humor. “It sucks. It is what it is.”
E! News reportedly reached out to Robert Shiver’s representatives for a response, but as of yet, there has been no comment.
“I Had Gotten My Hopes Up”
Savannah’s heartbreak was amplified by the fact that she genuinely believed this second chance might lead to something lasting. With her life calming down and her parents returning home, she envisioned a future that included Robert.
“Was I sad about it? Very much so,” she confessed. “I think I was sad because I had gotten my hopes up that this was going to be my second chance. Both of our lives were settling down and we were gonna end up together.”
According to Savannah, Robert had even spent time with her family during their brief reconciliation. That gesture had only reinforced her hope that their connection was real and moving toward something serious.
“He had come and spent time with my family, my parents, and then a week later I get ghosted. So, I don’t know,” she said with a tone of hurt and confusion.
A Journey Toward Self-Respect
While the experience was painful, Savannah used the opportunity to reflect on her own patterns in relationships and the importance of self-respect. She admitted that in the past, she had allowed behaviors from others — and even from herself — that didn’t align with her worth.
“I was extremely upset and sad and heartbroken,” she admitted. “But I put so much time, money, energy, and effort into that relationship that finally I had reached a point that I realized I deserve for someone to appreciate me and how I show up.”
Her words resonated as a declaration of personal growth. For Savannah, this heartbreak isn’t just the end of a relationship—it’s the beginning of a new era in her life. One in which she places value on herself and sets higher standards for the love she receives.
“I’ve lived a lot of my life not respecting myself and allowing certain behaviors, or I exhibited certain behaviors because I didn’t respect myself enough,” she reflected. “So, for me, this is kind of part of this new era, part of this new life — finding my self-respect, respecting myself enough to walk away, respecting myself enough to say no or to say yes.”
Fans React: A Mixture of Sympathy and Support
As expected, Savannah’s candid revelations sparked a wave of reactions online. Many fans expressed support, praising her honesty and vulnerability. Others pointed out how common “ghosting” has become in modern dating, and how painful it can be — especially when it follows a period of hope and reconciliation.
Some also admired her strength in publicly setting boundaries and choosing herself after being let down.
“She deserves better,” one fan wrote. “This is what healing looks like.”
Looking Forward
Despite the disappointment, Savannah isn’t letting this heartbreak define her. The experience has only deepened her journey toward healing and self-love. As she continues to rebuild her life — both personally and professionally — she’s leaning into lessons learned and the support of her family, especially now that her parents are back home.
For Savannah, this may not have been the fairy-tale ending she hoped for. But it could be the beginning of something even more important: a life led with purpose, dignity, and the courage to walk away from anyone who doesn’t match her value.
In her words: “It sucks. But it is what it is. And I deserve more.”
