Chrisleys Are Back! Todd and Julie Set to Reveal All in New TV Comeback.
Todd and Julie Chrisley Return to Reality TV After Presidential Pardon
The Chrisleys are back—with a new Lifetime series documenting life after prison, controversy, and redemption.
Back in the Spotlight
Todd and Julie Chrisley are officially returning to reality TV after receiving a presidential pardon from former President Donald Trump. The once-incarcerated reality stars, known for their hit show Chrisley Knows Best, are making a dramatic comeback with a new docuseries on Lifetime.
The announcement was confirmed by their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, while speaking to reporters outside the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, where she awaited her father’s release.
“We have a new show coming out on Lifetime, and it will document all of these things,” Savannah said. “We literally could not have done it. It’s all God and President Trump at this point.”
New Series in the Works
The upcoming Lifetime series promises to pull back the curtain on the Chrisley family like never before. In a statement released on May 21, the network confirmed the project, calling it a “deeply personal and dramatic” look into the family’s life following their legal troubles.
“In the wake of the family’s controversy and upheaval… the Chrisley family is now offering unprecedented access to their lives,” the network shared.
The docuseries is expected to debut later this year, marking the first time the family has appeared on television since Chrisley Knows Best ended in March 2023.
A Rise to Fame—and a Fall from Grace
The Chrisley family first found fame on the USA Network with Chrisley Knows Best, which aired for nearly a decade. The series chronicled the lavish lifestyle of Todd Chrisley—a real estate developer—his wife Julie, and their blended family of five children and one grandchild.
The show’s success also led to a spinoff, Growing Up Chrisley, featuring siblings Savannah and Chase Chrisley, which aired from 2019 to 2022.
However, the family’s glamorous image was shattered in November 2022, when Todd and Julie were sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison for tax evasion and bank fraud. Prosecutors revealed that as early as 2007, the couple provided false financial documents to banks in order to secure millions in loans.
They were also accused of fabricating bank statements and credit reports when applying to lease a home in California in 2014—two years after the original fraud scheme had reportedly ended.
Legal Setbacks and a Surprising Turn
Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie was given 7 years. Both were also assigned 16 months of probation and ordered to pay $17.8 million in restitution. They later filed an appeal.
In 2024, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled to uphold Todd’s conviction but sent Julie’s case back for resentencing. The court also upheld the conviction of their accountant, Peter Tarantino.
Despite the legal losses, the tide turned when Savannah Chrisley—a vocal advocate for her parents’ release—publicly appealed to the Trump administration and even spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention.
On May 27, her efforts paid off.
The Pardon and the Call That Changed Everything
Savannah received the life-changing news in a phone call directly from President Trump, which was later shared on social media by a White House communications adviser.
In the video, Trump describes the Chrisleys as having faced “harsh treatment”, and confirms their presidential pardon.
“I kind of had gotten to a place where I had lost hope, and just felt like nothing was going in my favor,” Savannah said in an interview with ABC News. “And then I got the call.”
A New Chapter Begins
With their legal battles behind them—for now—Todd and Julie are preparing to step back into the public eye, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into their post-prison life, personal reflections, and family resilience.
From scandal to second chances, the Chrisleys’ next chapter promises to be one of the most dramatic yet.
