From Emmerdale to ‘THIS’? Kelvin Fletcher Shows the Side of Farming TV Never Shows!

Kelvin Fletcher Reveals the Unfiltered Reality of Farm Life — Poop Samples, Sick Lambs, and a Heartwarming Surprise

Life on the farm isn’t glamorous — and Kelvin Fletcher is proving it once again.
In the latest episode of Fletchers’ Family Farm, the former Emmerdale star and his wife Liz offered viewers an unfiltered, often hilarious, and sometimes emotional glimpse into daily life on their 120-acre farm. And if anyone thought TV farming was all sunshine, newborn lambs, and scenic views, Kelvin’s newest challenge quickly shattered that illusion.

This week, the hardworking couple found themselves wrestling with one of the least appealing jobs on the farm: collecting poo samples from their flock. And while the adult ewes cooperated calmly, their lambs had other ideas.

The Poo-Sample Fiasco: “You need a smaller hand!”

Kelvin, now 41, spent nearly two decades playing farmer Andy Sugden on Emmerdale. But real-life farming brought him face-to-face with a task even his fictional character never faced: glove up… and go digging.

The couple needed fecal samples to test the lambs for potential health issues. But when the lambs refused to “deliver,” Kelvin called the vet for guidance.

The vet’s advice?
“Glove on, one finger in… but if there’s nothing there, you’ll need a smaller hand.”

Kelvin’s face said it all.

To his horror — and viewers’ absolute delight — he attempted to follow instructions. But when the situation reached its limit, only one person could help.

Liz climbed into the pen, bracing herself for the awkward task.
“You just make sure it doesn’t kick!” she warned Kelvin.
Moments later, she groaned, “There’s no poo there. You can’t just have a root around — that’s not nice! Do you want me to stick a finger up your bum?!”

It was chaotic, uncomfortable, and absolutely hilarious — the kind of moment that has turned Fletchers’ Family Farm into one of ITV’s most charming reality shows.

A Serious Turn: Twin Lambs in Trouble

The episode wasn’t all comedy.

Kelvin grew concerned when he noticed a pair of twin lambs struggling to feed. Their mother wasn’t producing enough milk — a classic sign of mastitis, a painful and potentially dangerous infection in ewes.

Acting fast, Kelvin administered antibiotics and monitored the ewe closely.
But in the meantime, the lambs needed to be bottle-fed around the clock.

Liz stepped in immediately, preparing the milk with the same methodical care she once used for their own four children — Marnie (7), Milo (4), and two-year-old twins Maximus and Mateusz.

Soon after, the family enjoyed one of the episode’s most heartwarming moments: watching their kids instinctively step into the role of caregivers.

“They’re still babies themselves,” Kelvin said proudly, “but they see themselves as protectors of these little lambs. It’s a beautiful quality.”

Rebuilding After the Fire — and Big News Ahead

Earlier this year, tragedy struck the Fletcher family when a fire damaged their property, forcing them to temporarily leave their home. But during their recent appearance on Lorraine, the couple shared uplifting news: the farm is back on track and thriving.

“You’ve just got to keep carrying on — and we have done!” Liz told viewers.
“We’ve expanded the cows, expanded the sheep… and even had our first farm wedding! There’s so much more to come.”

And then came Kelvin’s exciting announcement.

With a grin, he revealed, “It’s mating season — for the sheep, not for me and Liz! We’re getting the tup ready for the ladies. We’re already looking ahead to springtime when we’ll be expecting new lambs.”

New life, new hope, and a growing farm — the Fletchers have weathered chaos, comedy, hardship, and heart-warming victories. Their journey continues to show fans that farm life is unpredictable, messy, demanding… and unbelievably rewarding.
