Clarkson’s Farm Star Kaleb Cooper Makes Holiday Confession That Sparks Debate
Kaleb Cooper, the breakout star of Clarkson’s Farm, has never been one to mince words. Known for his no-nonsense approach to farming and his witty banter with Jeremy Clarkson, the 27-year-old Chipping Norton native has once again stirred conversation—this time with a confession about holidays that left some fans calling him “wise,” while others couldn’t believe their ears.
A Farmer Who Refuses to Travel
Speaking on the Performance People podcast alongside Jeremy Clarkson, hosted by Georgie Ainslie and Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie, Kaleb revealed something that surprised both listeners and fans alike—he has never been on holiday, doesn’t plan to go on one, and doesn’t even own a passport.
“I was told the other day if I got one, the first one is free isn’t it?” Kaleb joked, before adding that he has no interest in leaving his corner of Oxfordshire.
Clarkson, who himself confessed he’s “never been abroad,” was quick to point out that a passport is less about the cost and more about the opportunity it brings. But Kaleb wouldn’t budge. “I don’t need to,” he replied firmly.
The Chipping Norton Mindset
When pressed on whether he’d ever consider going further afield—perhaps to the United States for a book signing—Kaleb doubled down. “I have no intent to go to New York,” he insisted, admitting he’d rather stay in Chipping Norton, where he feels happiest.
Jeremy chimed in, laughing: “Honestly, when I met him… he’s never really been outside of Chipping Norton at all.”
Kaleb recalled one of the rare occasions he did leave: “You sent me to London for the second time… for the wasabi, which was awful.” He later admitted he had been back, once, for the National Television Awards—though at first he thought he was attending the National Tractor Awards.
For Kaleb, there’s no appeal in jetting across the world. “I have everything in Chipping Norton—the shops, the people, my family. I don’t need to go anywhere else,” he concluded.
Fans Divided Over His “Wise” Approach
Kaleb’s holiday confession quickly divided opinion. Some applauded his contentment and loyalty to home. One fan praised him, writing: “He is very wise. Traveling today is not easy, especially with mass tourism taking over everything. Comfort and happiness at home is not dull or boring.”
Another added: “Kaleb doesn’t need to chase happiness, he has everything he needs, wants, and loves on his doorstep. He is a lucky chap.”
Others admired his grounded outlook. “It’s called being content. Once you reach that level, life becomes very pleasant. To find joy in what you have is powerful.”
For some, Kaleb’s honesty was refreshing. “I love Kaleb, probably one of the happiest human beings on earth. Just shows you cars, holidays, and all the material things people chase don’t always make you happy.”
Not Everyone Agrees
Still, not all viewers were impressed. Critics argued that his refusal to travel showed a lack of curiosity. One person wrote: “Imagine staying in the same place all the time, how dull is that.”
Another said: “You don’t have to be a citizen of the world to at least have some interest in going beyond Chipping Norton. Even if you love farming, go to Ohio or Texas and see how vast it is there.”
A Symbol of Authenticity
Love him or disagree with him, there’s no denying Kaleb Cooper has struck a chord with audiences. His unapologetic attitude has made him one of the most authentic personalities on television today. As one fan summed it up: “Love people who are unapologetically themselves. This show is one of the best and has humanized Jeremy so much.”
And perhaps that’s why Kaleb resonates with so many—because in a world obsessed with chasing more, he reminds viewers that sometimes happiness is found right at home.
Season 4 of Clarkson’s Farm is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video, with Season 5 expected next year.
