Chrisley’s New Show Has Fans Obsessed – And Critics Fuming!

“This Ain’t No Sitcom Anymore”: Chrisley Family Returns to TV with Raw, Emotional New Series

After a long hiatus, legal battles, and emotional setbacks, the Chrisley family is back with a powerful new reality series—one that promises to show their most vulnerable side yet.

A New Chapter Begins

The Chrisleys, once known for their lighthearted antics on Chrisley Knows Best, are officially back in front of the cameras. But this time, their story is far from scripted or sugar-coated. Their new reality show, currently untitled, is set to premiere as part of the 2025 TV schedule on Lifetime—and according to Chase Chrisley, this series is “not for the faint of heart.”

Chase revealed on the Unfiltered South podcast that the new series dives deep into the emotional and psychological aftermath of their parents’ legal troubles and incarceration. “This ain’t no sitcom anymore,” he told host Travis Montgomery. “It’s raw. It’s real. It’s messy.”

From Sitcom to Reality

Unlike Chrisley Knows Best, which ran for 10 seasons on USA Network as a polished family sitcom, this new project strips away the comedy to reveal the family’s real-life struggles. Chase explained that viewers will finally get to see the family as they truly are, no longer playing roles for the camera.

“I feel like for so long we were playing characters,” Chase admitted. “Now we’re just showing the highs and the lows—and no matter how low we get kicked down, we’re still going to get back up.”

Behind the Scenes: Tears, Fights, and Unfiltered Truth

Production began in early July, mostly filmed in Nashville, Tennessee, including scenes at Nanny Faye’s downsized home. Sources close to the production told People Now that the tone of the show is dramatically different from the past.

New Chrisley Reality TV Show: Which Family Members Will Star?

“There are tears, there’s anger, and there are fights that don’t get resolved by the end of the episode,” said one crew member. “This is a family that’s been through hell, and they’re not sugarcoating it anymore.”

Although Todd and Julie Chrisley are still serving their sentences for financial crimes, they remain involved through emotional video calls, letters, and family reflections. Their presence continues to shape the storyline deeply.

Chase’s Breakdown: “I Was Spiraling”

In a powerful moment during the podcast interview, Chase made a heartbreaking confession: “I was spiraling. After the sentencing, I went into a really dark place. I didn’t want the cameras around me.”

Chase spoke about the emotional pressure he felt trying to hold it together for his younger siblings and grandmother. “Everyone saw me as the goofball. But when you’re getting phone calls from federal prison and hearing your mom cry… that stuff sticks with you.”

Sources confirmed that Chase’s raw emotional moments will be featured in the final cut of the show. “He’s not hiding behind the jokes anymore,” said a production assistant. “This is Chase like you’ve never seen him before.”

Nanny Faye: The Comic Relief and Family Rock

Despite the intense tone, longtime fan-favorite Nanny Faye brings much-needed levity. Still sharp-tongued and hilarious, Nanny continues to call Chase an “idiot” multiple times a day, reminding fans that some things never change.

One leaked scene shows Nanny Faye setting Chase up on a blind date with someone she met at a bingo hall. “She doesn’t know boundaries,” Savannah joked during a fan Q&A, “and we love her for that.”

Savannah’s Burden: Sister, Parent, and Now Producer

Savannah Chrisley, now the legal guardian of her younger siblings, has taken on the added role of executive producer for the show. Balancing family responsibilities with production duties has been a major challenge.

“This has been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done,” she wrote on Instagram. “But I know my parents would want us to keep telling our story—even the hard parts.”

One emotional scene teased in the premiere shows Savannah breaking down after a tense call with Todd, only to be comforted silently by her younger brother Grayson.

What’s Next for the Chrisleys?

While this Lifetime show is moving full steam ahead, there are rumors of another project on the horizon. Todd Chrisley is reportedly pitching a new show centered around the family’s efforts to open and run a hotel in South Carolina. Sources say he’s seeking a $5 million deal, though some producers are hesitant due to the family’s ongoing legal and financial complications.

In the meantime, fans can expect the new series to deliver raw, emotional storytelling and an unfiltered look at the Chrisleys’ efforts to rebuild. Early viewer reactions from private screenings have been overwhelmingly emotional—calling it “gut-wrenching,” “beautiful,” and “oddly cathartic.”

A Message to Fans: “We Came Back to Show the Truth”

Chase ended his podcast appearance with a message that struck a chord with fans:

“We didn’t come back to play perfect. We came back to show people what this actually looks like—rebuilding, surviving, stumbling, and getting back up. The fans deserve the truth.”

As the official premiere date nears and streaming rights are negotiated (rumored to be between Peacock and Hulu), one thing is clear: this isn’t just a reality show comeback—it’s a family fighting for healing and honesty on camera.
