Todd and Julie Chrisley Share What They’ve Reportedly Been Eating for Over 2 Years.

“Quesadillas & Tuna: Inside Todd and Julie Chrisley’s Prison Meals”

The couple reveals surprising details from 28 months behind bars on their podcast ‘Chrisley Confessions 2.0’

🗣️ What Did the Chrisleys Eat in Prison?

On the July 16 episode of their podcast Chrisley Confessions 2.0, Todd and Julie Chrisley opened up about a frequently asked question from fans:
What did you actually eat in prison?

While the answers varied dramatically between the two, they offered rare and candid glimpses into their time behind bars.

🍗 Todd’s Take: Fast Food in Federal Prison?

“I had Chick-fil-A. I had Burger King. I had pizza. I had Culver’s… even Olive Garden once,” Todd claimed.

His wife Julie quickly interrupted: “Todd!”

But Todd doubled down:

Julie Chrisley Was 'Nervous' to See Husband Todd After Their Prison Releases

“You asked what I ate — I’m not going to lie.”

According to Todd, much of the outside food came from connections with fellow inmates or staff. He even mentioned having a “chef” who made him quesadillas using an iron, pizza sauce, and pepperonis he allegedly sourced from Walmart.

Julie wasn’t buying it.

🧀 Julie’s Reality: No Outside Food for 28 Months

Julie painted a very different picture.

“I had not one morsel of outside food for 28 months,” she said. “None.”

Unlike Todd, Julie claimed she didn’t receive special meals or favors. She cooked for herself and fellow inmates using whatever limited resources they had — often preparing food on radiators or using hot water and a small cooler.

She shared plans to recreate some of her prison meals on video now that she’s home.

“I think that’s kinda cool,” she said.

🥫 Staple Meals Behind Bars

Despite the contrast in experiences, the couple did agree on a few items they both relied on:

  • Tuna

  • Quesadillas

  • Nachos

  • Pickle wraps (though Todd refused to try them)

Julie, who didn’t even eat tuna before prison, said it became a regular part of her meals. Todd claimed to love tuna and made basic pasta salads and peanut butter dishes to stay full.

🍽️ Cooking for Thanksgiving in Prison

Julie previously opened up in a letter (read by daughter Savannah Chrisley on her Unlocked podcast) about preparing Thanksgiving dinner in prison.

Imprisoned 'Chrisley Knows Best' couple to seek pardons from Trump

“Cooking anything in here is a chore,” she wrote.
“We made chicken and stuffing casseroles. Cooking was done on radiators in winter and with hot water in summer. There’s no fridge, no knives, only a few spices.”

Still, she said the experience brought inmates together:

“Just sitting around a table was nice.”

📻 Back on the Outside — and On the Air

Todd and Julie were released from their respective federal facilities on May 28, following full pardons issued by President Donald Trump. They had each served over two years after being convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022.

Now back together, they’ve returned to podcasting — and aren’t shying away from sharing their unfiltered experiences.
